THE EXPERIENCE
β
This is a full-day experience. We start our day early in the morning, picking you up from your accommodation in Cusco and heading through Pisac to BHAKTI YOGA SCHOOL. Here, we’ll enjoy a yoga session suitable for all levels, helping us prepare physically, mentally and spiritually for the adventure ahead. After our practice, we’ll share a nutritious breakfast made with local ingredients such as quinoa, cacao, kiwicha, maca, fresh fruits and more.
β
We then continue south, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of this part of the valley, passing by small lagoons and traditional villages until we reach the town of Cusipata, where a beautiful and welcoming riverside Cusipata River Lodge by MAYUC awaits us.
Here, we’ll get fully equipped for our river adventure, from wetsuits and helmets to paddles. Before entering the river, our guides will explain everything you need to know so you can enjoy the experience in a fun, safe and mindful way.
Then it’s time for approximately 90 minutes of intermediate-level rafting on the Vilcanota River — the Willkamayu, the Sacred River of the Andes.
β
Along the way, we’ll not only enjoy the excitement of the river, but also take part in simple activities and dynamics that invite us to connect with the water, our surroundings and one another. We’ll also create a small gesture of gratitude and reciprocity toward the river that gives life to the entire valley.
β
After the rafting, we’ll have time to relax at the lodge, enjoy the sauna, take a warm shower and share a nutritious vegetarian or vegan lunch made with local ingredients.
β
For those looking for a little more excitement, there is also the option to finish with a fun zipline crossing the river. If you prefer to take it easy, you can simply rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Finally, we’ll come together for a closing circle — a space to integrate the experience, share a reflection, an insight, a question, or simply something that inspired you during the day.
Then we head back to Cusco with a relaxed body, a quiet mind and a spirit full of life.

ββββIMPORTANT — COME AS YOU ARE
β
This is an intermediate-level rafting experience and a reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended. You don’t need to be an experienced swimmer, as all participants are provided with appropriate flotation and safety equipment. However, you should feel comfortable being around water and be willing to follow the safety instructions of the guides.
β
If you carry a fear of water, this can also be a beautiful opportunity to meet it with awareness, patience and courage. Sometimes, stepping gently beyond our comfort zone can open a new relationship with something we once feared.
β
Most importantly, come with an open mind and an open heart — ready to participate, connect, let go of expectations and embrace the experience as it unfolds. This is not simply a tour to be consumed, but a day to be lived, shared and experienced together.
